History of “Morava” airport

1967.

Military airport Ladjevci near Kraljevo was built, and settled with the 235th Fighter-Bomber Squadron equipped with F-84 Thunderjet aircraft.

1992.

After dissolution of SFRY it took over squadrons from Skoplje and Mostar.

1999.

It suffered serious damage from a NATO aggressor, when also lost a control tower.

2011.

In the spring it started with construction of a new control tower, thermo energetic facility and terminal for the civilian airport Morava in Tavnik separated from the military unit, also it started with repairing runway, which lasted to 2016.

5.10.2011.

First civilian airplane from Belgrade landed , and it unofficially becomes an military civilian airport.

08.03.2015.

Flight Kraljevo – Zurich – Indian Wales was performed with special permits. The flight was performed by Prince aviation using the Cessna 560XL Citation XLS aircraft to departure Novak Djokovic to a US tennis tournament.Handling were provided by the Serbian military (98 Air Force Brigade) with the assistance of Customs and Border Police.

2019.

Passenger terminal building is being additionally renovated and equipped, the runway is expanded and asphalted, a fleet is formed for functioning of all necessary services.

28.06.2019.

Officially and solemnly opened as like Morava Airport, making it the third commercial airport in Serbia with the international marks IATA: KVO and ICAO: LYKV

17.12.2019.

The first commercial line is introduced to Vienna of Air Serbia with airplane ATR-72, which operates twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

2021.

A new commercial line to Istanbul and two seasonal, Thessaloniki and Tivat, twice a week by Air Serbia with an ATR-72 aircraft.
